Creating an account asks for your email address and a password. We do not ask for your name when you create an account. If you join our email list, we collect the name and email address you type into the form. If you send us a help ticket, we collect your message and the email address you give us so we can reply. The platform that runs this site also records basic usage information, such as which pages are visited.
You can sign in with Google instead of a password. When you do, Google confirms who you are and shares your basic account details, such as your name and email address, with the sign-in system. We never see or store your Google password.
Every page of the book is free to read without an account. Under each page, readers can write a reflection. Anything typed is first kept only in your own browser. If you tap the button to save it to your dashboard, you will be asked to sign in, and the reflection is saved to your account. You can also record a short video reflection. You must be signed in before you record. Videos are stored as private files, not public links. A saved reflection can be seen only by the account that saved it and by site administrators, who help families and keep the site safe. Administrators are told when a new reflection is saved.
In the Practice Studio, a child can record their own voice and play it back. These recordings are never sent to us and are never stored on our servers. They stay in the browser on your device. The check marks for finished letters are also kept only in your browser.
This site is made for families to use together. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children. Accounts, help tickets, and the email list are meant for parents and other adults. If a parent or guardian believes a child has shared personal information with us, such as a saved reflection, please contact us and we will remove it promptly.
When you send a help ticket, we store the subject, your message, the category and priority you pick, the page you were on, and your reply email if you give one. Only site administrators can read tickets. We use them only to answer you and to fix problems.
We use the information you share to send you the free resources you requested, to share updates about new books and resources from J Ellington Publishing LLC, and to run and improve the site. We do not sell your personal information to anyone.
If you join our community list, you will receive emails from J Ellington Publishing LLC. Every email includes a way to unsubscribe, and you can opt out at any time. We will never send you spam.
We take reasonable steps to protect the information you share with us. Saved video reflections are stored as private files, and they are shown only through signed links to the account that saved them and to administrators. Still, no method of sending or storing information over the internet is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
You may ask us at any time what information we hold about you, request a correction, or ask us to delete it. This includes any saved reflections. Just reach out using the contact information below.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the date below and post the updated policy on this page.
If you have any questions about this Privacy Policy, please contact us at info@jellingtonpublishing.com.
